Summary: A Treasury of World Literature has enjoyed a modest success since its first two incarnations. Over the years, responses from its users have prompted the editors to consider a new edition. The readings herein are essentially the same, save for a few added or replaced poems and short stories. Except for some complete short works, many of the selections here are excerpts from the larger works of the writers as this book is meant only as a "foretaste" of the study of literature.
